The powiat Rypiński is a powiat ( district ) in the Polish Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship . It is located about 50 km east of Toruń . 44,000 people live in an area of ​​587.08 km².

history

The powiat exists in its current form since 1999. Until 1975 there was a district of the same name. From 1815 to 1918 he was part of Congress Poland or Russian Poland . From 1919 to March 31, 1938, the powiat belonged to what was then the Warsaw Voivodeship and came to what was then the Greater Pomerania Voivodeship on April 1, 1938 as part of a territorial reform . From 1939 to 1945 the area was part of the Rippin (West Pr.) District of the Reichsgau Gdansk-West Prussia , Marienwerder district .
