Election results

Parliamentary election 2011

The election took place on October 9, 2011.

None of the incumbent senators from the former constituency No. 2 ran for election in the new constituency No. 4: Stanisław Jurcewicz successfully applied for a second term as senator for the KW Platforma Obywatelska RP in constituency No. 5 . Roman Ludwiczuk , a senator since 2005, did not run for a third term in the general election.

Wiesław Kilian, member of the Sejm in the V. and VI. Electoral period (2005–2007, 2010–2011), left his parliamentary club Polska Jest Najważniejsza in the Sejm to run for senator and ran as a non-party candidate for the KW Platforma Obywatelska RP. He was able to win the mandate before the local politician Patryk Wild and the lawyer Maciej Badora. Zbigniew Chlebowski, a member of the Sejm in his third term since 2001 and a member of the Platforma Obywatelska, ran as a non-party candidate after a corruption affair, but clearly missed a place in the Senate. For Kilian it was the 1st term in the Senate.
