Waiharara is a small settlement in the Far North District of Northland on the North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is located around 20 km north-northwest of Kaitaia on the Aupōuri Peninsula . The New Zealand State Highway 1 runs through the settlement, which connects it with Awanui , around 12 km further southeast. A few hundred meters to the northwest is located at an altitude of 35 m of Lake Waiparera and some 5 km away in a westerly direction extending Ninety Mile Beach towards north and south. On the east side, however, lies Rangaunu Harbor at a distance of around 4 km .
Education
With the Waiharara School, the settlement has a primary school with grades 1 to 8. In 2016, 17 students attended the school.
