Wailing Souls
The Wailing Souls is a Jamaican reggae band that was founded in the mid- 1960s by Winston “Pipe” Matthews, Lloyd “Bread” McDonald, George “Buddy” Haye and Rudolph “Garth” Dennis and which still has a different line-up today Tour goes and records released.
Career
The group took plates among others with Coxsone Dodd of Studio One , Lloyd " King Jammy " James, Henry "Junjo" Lawes , Delroy Wright and Freddie McGregor on, also some early recordings found Bob Marley's Tuff Gong label instead.
The band recorded cover versions , among others, The Who My Generation , The Beatles ' Tomorrow Never Knows and Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone on. After several member changes, only Winston “Pipe” Matthews and Lloyd “Bread” MacDonald from the original line-up are still there.
In February 2015 the reggae band New Kingston released the album Kingston City, on which The Wailing Souls can be heard on Protect Me .
