Wakulowe ( Ukrainian Вакулове ; Russian Вакулово Wakulowo ) is a village in the Ukrainian Dnipropetrovsk Oblast . The village, founded in the mid-1920s, has an area of around 2.5 km² and around 1000 inhabitants (2012).

history
The village was founded in 1924 after the conquest of the land by Jewish settlers from the surrounding villages and was named Tschemerynske (Чемеринське) until 1934 , then until the German occupation of Stalindorf (Сталіндорф), during the German occupation it was called Friesendorf, after the reconquest by the Red Army then from 1944 Stalinske (Сталінське) and from 1961 Schowtnewe (Ukrainian Жовтневе; Russian Жовтневое / Schowtnewoje), in the course of the decommunization of Ukraine, the place was renamed Wakulowe on May 19, 2016 .
Between 1931 and 1941 or 1944 and 1945 the place was the Rajonszentrum of the Jewish National Rajon Stalindorf .
geography
The village is located in the south of Sofijiwka Raion, 20 km south of the Sofijivka Raion center , 1.5 km from the left bank of the Shovtenka ( Жовтенька ), a 42 km long tributary of the Kamyanka . Territorial road T – 04–19 runs through Wakulowe .
Landratsgemeinde
The village is the administrative seat of the district council of the same name with an area of 157.6472 km² and a population of 1739 inhabitants. In addition to Wakulowe, the district council also includes the following villages:
