Walid Juffali

Walid Ahmed Juffali ( Arabic وليد أحمد الجفالي, DMG Walīd Aḥmad al-Ǧuffālī ; * April 30, 1955 in Saudi Arabia ; † July 20, 2016 in Zurich , Switzerland ) was a Saudi Arabian entrepreneur .

Life

Walid Juffali was the son of the Saudi Arabian entrepreneur Ahmed Juffali . His siblings are the entrepreneur Khaled Juffali and his sister Maha Juffali. His brother Tarek Juffali died in London in 2008. Juffai attended the Swiss boarding school Le Rosey . Juffali studied at the University of San Diego and Imperial College London . He ran EA Juffali and Brothers , which his father took over and which grew into one of the largest private corporations in Saudi Arabia. He was also chairman of the Saudi Arabian bank Samba Financial Group , vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce of Jeddah and honorary consul general of Denmark. As a diplomat from the island state of Saint Lucia , he enjoyed diplomatic immunity in England.

From 1980 to 2000 he was married to Basma Al-Sulaiman, with whom he has three children. From 2001 to 2012 he was married to the British model Christina Estrada , with whom he has one child, and since 2012 he was married to the Lebanese model Loujain Adada, with whom he has two children. Basma Al-Sulaiman's divorce attracted attention in the UK media in 2004 due to the high cost of the divorce. His international guests in Jeddah included Margaret Thatcher , John Major and US President George Bush, Senior . On July 20, 2016, he died in Zurich of complications from cancer.
