Walter Angonese

Walter Angonese (* 1961 in Kaltern ) is an Italian architect from South Tyrol .

Life

Angonese studied architecture at the IUAV in Venice from 1984 to 1990 . From 1990 to 1992 he worked in the South Tyrolean Monuments Office , from 1992 to 2001 he was a partner of A5 Architects . He has been running his own architecture office in Kaltern since 2002.

From 1997 Angonese worked as a lecturer and lecturer in the university sector. From 2007 to 2011 he was visiting professor at the Accademia di architettura of the Università della Svizzera italiana in Mendrisio , where he has been a full professor since 2011.

Angonese set accents in particular with its wine architecture , which he implemented in 1997 in projects for the Josef Hofstätter winery in Tramin , 2004 for the Manincor winery in Kaltern, 2005–2019 for the St. Michael winery in Eppan and 2016 for the Thomas Pichler winery in Kaltern . Angonese also took care of the architectural adaptations of important historical buildings, including Tyrol Castle and the Kufstein Fortress , the restoration of the ruins of Laimburg , Neuhaus , Hocheppan and the Romanesque hospice St. Florian (Klösterle) in Neumarkt .

Other completed buildings include, for example, the collector's house of the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation, the new library in Kaltern, the restoration of the Seehotel Ambach with its new bathhouse, and Haus D. in Vorarlberg.

Angonese was a member of the Design Advisory Board of the City of Salzburg until 2019 , of which it was its chairman from 2015. In 2018 he was represented at the Architecture Biennale with an installation in the Corderies.
