Walter Berger (geologist)

Walter Berger (born April 29, 1919 in Vienna ; † July 19, 1976 ibid) was an Austrian geologist and paleontologist .

Berger was in 1949 at the University of Vienna Dr. phil. PhD and worked as an oil geologist from 1949 . As a paleontologist, he explored fossil plants and flora and Tertiary - mollusks . He also occupied himself with folklore , including examining wayside shrines and crosses in the fields .

Berger was buried at the Südwestfriedhof (group 45, row 8, number 7) in Vienna.
