Walter Besler

Walter Besler (born January 4, 1929 in Zöblen , Tyrol) is an Austrian teacher and geologist .

Life

Besler passed the teaching examination in natural history at the University of Innsbruck in 1954 . In 1956 he was awarded a Dr. phil. (Geology) PhD . His dissertation dealt with the Jura spotted marl in the Tannheimer Valley and contains numerous information on paleontology , for example on the ammonite fauna . From 1954 to 1956 Besler was a contract teacher at the Realgymnasium in Lienz , East Tyrol. From 1956 to 1975 he was a professor at various secondary schools in Innsbruck. From 1975 to 1979 he held the position of director of the Innsbruck Realgymnasium . From 1975 to 1982 Besler was a lecturer in didactics of biology and earth science at the University of Innsbruck. From 1980 he was at the Board of Education of Tyrol Province school .

In 1990 Besler received the Great Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria
