Walter Blaas

Walter Blaas (born January 26, 1959 in Kaltern ) is a South Tyrolean politician.

biography

Blaas, who worked as an employee of the Brixen municipal utility , appeared politically from 2005 onwards as the Brixen municipal council of the Freedom Party and spokesman for his parliamentary group. In 2008 he tried to win a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and thus at the same time the regional council Trentino-South Tyrol on the list of his party , which he did not succeed with 2,403 preferential votes .

In the South Tyrolean state elections in 2013, Blaas received 3,594 preferential votes, which meant that he was able to move into the House of Parliament in fifth place. As part of the state elections in 2018 , his party suffered a severe loss of votes and Blaas missed re-election with 1,501 preferential votes.
