Walter De Greef (born November 12, 1957 in Paal ) is a former Belgian football player .

Player career

De Greef began his career at FC Beringen , where he was under contract from 1975 to 1981. In 1981 he moved to RSC Anderlecht . In five years in Brussels , the defender won the Belgian championship twice and the Belgian Supercup once . He was also able to win the UEFA Cup in 1983 . In the second final in Lisbon , De Greef was in the starting lineup of the Violets and played through. In 1986 he moved to the Vienna Sports Club in Austria , where he stayed for only one year. In 1987 he returned to Belgium and played for another year with Sporting Lokeren and later with Patro Eisdem MM, where he ended his career.

Internationally, De Greef played five times for Belgium; He completed all games in 1984, after he was called up for an international match against the Netherlands in 1979 , but was not used. He took part in the 1984 European Football Championship in France, where Belgium was eliminated in the group stage.
