Walter Grandpair

Walter Grand Pair is a former German chief prosecutor of the prosecutor Nuremberg - Fürth .

Activity as senior public prosecutor

As senior public prosecutor, Walter Grandpair has been investigating the cases of Germans ( Desaparecidos ) who disappeared during the Argentine military dictatorship since 1998 . These cases were filed by the Coalition Against Impunity , a Nuremberg- based association of human rights and non-governmental organizations that oppose the amnesty of members of the Argentine military government 1976-1983 in connection with the killing and enforced disappearance of German nationals and their conviction before a Federal German court seeks. Grandpair also investigated the cases of the missing trade unionists from Mercedes-Benz Argentina, as well as the disappearance of children of some Jews who fled Germany during the Nazi era.

His extradition requests and international arrest warrants based on them from the Nuremberg-Fürth district court against members of the Argentine military junta, General Jorge Videla , Admiral Emilio Massera and General Guillermo Suárez Mason , in the years 2001 to 2003 for the murder of two young Germans, Elisabeth Käsemann and Klaus Zieschank , have made a major contribution to the repeal of the Closing Line Act in Argentina. He has worked with great commitment with other prosecutors and judges in Italy and Spain ( Baltasar Garzón ).

In the appeal proceedings against the Erlangen Holocaust denier Johannes Lerle for sedition , Walter Grandpair represented the indictment before the Nuremberg-Fürth district court .

Political activism

Grandpair has also appeared as a supporter of the anti-fascist initiative “Right versus Right” of the Nuremberg District Youth Association .
