Walter Lienau

Walter Lienau (born June 5, 1906 in Hamburg ; † April 12, 1941 at the Klidi Pass) was a German student functionary and chairman of the German student body .

Life

Lienau was the son of Arnold Lienau , chairman of the Hamburg regional association of the national conservative DNVP . Walter Lienau passed his Abitur at the Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Hamburg in September 1924 . From 1926 to 1930 he studied agriculture at the Technical University of Munich . In 1927 he became a member of the Isaria Corps . In 1930 he passed the exam as a qualified farmer.

Lienau joined the NSDAP as early as 1925 (membership number 19.892) and the SS in 1928 (membership number 1.193) . In 1929 he became university group leader of the NSDStB at the TH Munich , 1930/31 district leader Bavaria of the German Student Union (DSt) and the NSDStB as well as university policy advisor in the Reich leadership of the student union. From July to December 1931 he was chairman of the DSt. After a conflict with the Reichsführer of the NSDStB Baldur von Schirach , however, he withdrew from the university work and took over the management of his parents' farm in Schleswig-Holstein. In 1935 he became head of department in the Race and Settlement Main Office of the SS , but then worked again as a farmer. In 1936 he was promoted to SS-Hauptsturmführer. In 1938 he became chairman of the Pinneberg District Court of the NSDAP. During the Second World War he volunteered in the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler and fell in Greece in April 1941.

Lienau's book on Freemasons and Lodge ( Fritsch younger , Leipzig 1936) was placed on the list of literature to be segregated in the Soviet occupation zone after the end of the war .
