Walter Mack
Walter Mack (born January 4, 1953 in Bonn ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.73 m tall and 71 kg heavy athlete started for the SSF Bonn .
Sporting successes
At the German Swimming Championships in 1971 he was German champion over 200 m dolphin.
In addition, he won several German relay championships with the SSF Bonn:
- 1971:
- 4 × 100 m freestyle relay (cast: Gerhard Schiller , Werner Lampe , Ernst Speidel , and Walter Mack)
- 4 × 100 m dolphin relay (cast: Walter Mack, Hans Lampe , Gerhard Schiller and Peter Mack )
- 4 × 200 m freestyle relay (cast: Werner Lampe, Ernst Speidel, Walter Mack and Gerhard Schiller) in 8: 01.8 minutes; this time meant a German record.
- 1974
- 4 × 100 m layer relay (cast: Bodo Schlag , Walter Kusch , Walter Mack and Gerhard Schiller)
- 1975
- 4 × 100 m layer relay (cast: Bodo Schlag, Walter Kusch, Walter Mack and Dirk Braunleder )
He started the 200 m dolphin at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , but could not qualify for the final as 21st of the prelims (2: 11.03 minutes).
After finishing his sporting career, he ran a massage and physiotherapy practice in Oberpleis with his brother Peter .
