Gerhard Schiller (born April 17, 1949 in Stuttgart ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.79 m tall and 65 kg heavy athlete started for the SSF Bonn .

In 1971 he became German champion in the 100 m freestyle.

Schiller took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich .

  • He failed in the 100 m freestyle with 54.28 seconds in the lead. To qualify for the semifinals, he should have been 0.04 seconds faster.
  • He also played the prelims for two seasons:

Today Schiller is successful as a senior athlete and starts for SV Cannstatt .

  • At the Masters World Championships in Gothenburg in 2010 , he won four medals: gold over 50 and 100 m freestyle and silver over 200 m freestyle and 50 m dolphin.
  • In 2014, he set two European records in the 65-year-old age group:
    • over 50 m freestyle in 28.45 seconds and
    • over 100 m freestyle in 1: 02.89 min.
