Gerhard Schiller (born April 17, 1949 in Stuttgart ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.79 m tall and 65 kg heavy athlete started for the SSF Bonn .

In 1971 he became German champion in the 100 m freestyle.

Schiller took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich .

• He failed in the 100 m freestyle with 54.28 seconds in the lead. To qualify for the semifinals, he should have been 0.04 seconds faster.
• He also played the prelims for two seasons:
  • 4 × 100 m freestyle relay (cast: Klaus Steinbach , Werner Lampe , Rainer Jacob , Hans Faßnacht , Gerhard Schiller, Hans-Günther Vosseler and Kersten Meier ); the season finished in 6th place in 3: 33.90 min. Gold went to the USA , which swam a world record in 3: 26.42 min.
  • 4 × 200 m freestyle relay (cast: Klaus Steinbach, Werner Lampe, Hans-Günther Vosseler, Hans Faßnacht, Gerhard Schiller and Folkert Meeuw ); the relay won the silver medal in the European record time of 7: 41.69 minutes. The USA also won gold here in the world record time of 7: 35.78 minutes.

Today Schiller is successful as a senior athlete and starts for SV Cannstatt .

• At the Masters World Championships in Gothenburg in 2010 , he won four medals: gold over 50 and 100 m freestyle and silver over 200 m freestyle and 50 m dolphin.
• In 2014, he set two European records in the 65-year-old age group:
  • over 50 m freestyle in 28.45 seconds and
  • over 100 m freestyle in 1: 02.89 min.
