Maurice Daly Ndour (born June 18, 1992 in Sindia ) is a Senegalese basketball player . His preferred position is that of the power forward .

career

Maurice Ndour grew up in the Senegalese coastal town of M'bour , where he was discovered by Japanese scouts at the age of 15 and then moved to Okayama and attended Okayama Gakugeikan High School from 2007 to 2011 . After graduation, he moved to the United States at Monroe College in New York City and played with the Monroe Mustangs in the National Junior College Athletic Association . From 2013 to 2015 he attended Ohio University and played for their basketball team, the Ohio Bobcats , the Mid-American Conference (MAC) of the NCAA . In his final season in the North American University Championship, Maurice Ndour averaged 16 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. In both the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons he was elected to the All-MAC Second Team for his achievements.

In the 2015 NBA draft , Maurice Ndour was not elected by any team, but played the NBA Summer League in the ranks of the New York Knicks in July of that year . Here he brought it to an average of 9.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game and was then signed by the Dallas Mavericks , with whom he completed the preseason . Shortly before the start of the 2015/16 season , the Mavericks deleted him from the squad due to an injury to his left leg. In December 2015, Maurice Ndour signed a contract for Spanish club Real Madrid that ran until the end of the season . With the " Royal " he won in that season, the double of championship and Cup , but was itself only a few uses. After his contract ended, Maurice Ndour moved to the NBA , where he signed for the New York Knicks. Since the Knicks terminated his contract with him on June 30, he has been without a club.

National team

Maurice Ndour was part of Senegal's final squad at the 2014 Basketball World Cup in Spain , where he reached the round of 16 with his country selection. During the course of the tournament, he achieved an average of 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in six games.
