Walter Nothelfer

Walter Nothelfer (born October 29, 1922 - † September 28, 2014 ) was a German association official and local politician . For 66 years he was a war disabled member of the social association VdK Germany .

biography

In the Second World War , 1941, Nothelfer was seriously wounded . His injury meant that he could no longer work as a cook in the profession he had learned. Emergency helper took part in a retraining course that qualified him for a job in the commercial area. Subsequently, he worked for the district administration. Nothelfer was in charge of the war victims' department there.

Emergency helper was an honorary judge at the regional social court for almost 45 years . He worked on the advisory boards of the state pension office and state welfare association . Nothelfer was also a member of the Ravensburg municipal council from 1951 to 1975 .

Walter Nothelfer was married and had two children.

Social Association VdK Germany

From 1948 onwards, Nothelfer contributed significantly in an honorary and full-time position to the development of the VdK, the association of war victims, war survivors and social pensioners in Germany . He also participates in its further development into the social association VdK Germany.

Emergency helper worked in various functions for the VdK. For many years he held the office of deputy regional association chairman in Baden-Württemberg . Nothelfer was chairman of the district association of South Württemberg-Hohenzollern . From 1961 on he acted as district association manager for a total of 27 years. Nothelfer was responsible for the Ravensburg district association for 57 years. For 55 years he was chairman of the Ravensburg local association. For 60 years, Nothelfer was a member of the advisory board of VdK's own property developer GSW , the Society for Settlement and Housing Construction . He co-founded this in 1949.

Honors

Walter Nothelfer has received several awards for his social commitment . He was an honorary board member of the Baden-Württemberg state association and received all awards given by the social association VdK Germany. Nothelfer also received the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit . In addition, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class .
