Walter Saxer (film producer)
Walter Saxer (* 31 July 1947 in St. Gallen as Walter Saxer junior ) is a Swiss film producer , film director and actor . He worked a lot with Werner Herzog , Klaus Kinski and Herbert Achternbusch . He has since retired from the film business and runs the Casa Fitzcarraldo , a small hotel in Peru. The Casa Fitzgeraldo was originally not a hotel, but the production building for the film Fitzcarraldo , in which Saxer was also involved as a producer.
Saxer gained notoriety through Werner Herzog's film My Dearest Feind , in which you can see in a scene how Saxer is insulted by Klaus Kinski on the set of Fitzcarraldo because he is not satisfied with the food.
