Walter Tröger

Walter Tröger (born May 2, 1926 in Vohenstrauss ; † February 6, 2004 ) was a German university professor and educational researcher .

Life

Early years and education

Tröger did his military service in 1944 and 1945 and was taken prisoner of war . After training as a teacher and teaching post from 1947 to 1952, he studied from 1952 to 1954 at the Vocational Education Institute in Munich . From 1951 to 1957 he studied psychology and education at the Philosophical-Theological University of Regensburg and received his diploma in 1956. It was in 1959 at the University of Munich with the topic of the importance of the film for the toiling youth Dr. phil did his doctorate and received his habilitation in 1965 .

Research, teaching and later years

Tröger was from 1957 to 1960 assistant at the Scientific Institute for Youth Issues in Munich and from 1960 to 1965 at the educational seminar at the University of Munich. From 1965 to 1994 he was an associate professor for education at the University of Regensburg .

In addition, Tröger was for many years a board member of the Institute for Media Education in Research and Practice in Munich. He died at the age of 77 after a serious illness.
