The Walton Terraces are a series of rocky terraces on the west side of Léonie Island in the Léonie Islands group west of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are densely overgrown by communities of higher plants such as the Antarctic Schmiele and the Antarctic Perlwurz as well as mosses and various lichens . They are also frequented by numerous Antarctic bird species.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2019. It is named after the biologist David Walton (1945–2019), who from 1967 worked in various capacities for the British Antarctic Survey in Antarctica .
