Wang Jianwei
Wang Jianwei (born October 28, 1958 in Suining , Sichuan ) is a Chinese conceptual artist . He works mainly with video and installations .
life and work
Wang Jianwei studied from 1985 to 1987 at the Chinese College of the Arts in Hangzhou . Since 1989 he has been a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing .
Wang's work is experimental. He uses new media . He creates large video and installation works that often include sculptures and performances. Wang also works with painting. The philosophers Jacques Derrida , Michel Foucault and Ludwig Wittgenstein have significantly influenced his conceptual work.
