Wang Xi ( Chinese  王喜 , Pinyin Wáng Xĭ ; born January 1, 1984 in Fuzhou ) is a German - Chinese table tennis player who was under contract with the Bundesliga club TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell and moved to ASV Grünwettersbach in 2019 .

After learning to play table tennis in China, he came to TTV Gönnern in Germany in 2007 . In the 2007/08, 2009/10 and 2011/12 seasons he had the best individual record in the Bundesliga , but due to the strong competition in the Chinese national team, he was almost never able to take part in international tournaments. In August 2015 he received German citizenship and has been eligible to compete in the DTTB ever since . In the shake hand position he plays a modern variation of the defense game .

Since 2008 Wang has been married to his wife Tan Jing, with whom he lives in Fulda and who played in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008/09 with SV Darmstadt 98 .
