Wang Zhengwei ( Chinese  徐绍史 * June 1957 in Tongxin , Autonomous Region Ningxia ) is a politician of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the People's Republic of China , among others, from 2008 to 2013 Chairman of the People's Government of the autonomous region of Ningxia and 2013-2018 Vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People (CPPCC) and, at the same time, Chairman of the State Commission on Ethnic Affairs at ministerial level .

Life

Wang Zhengwei, a member of the Hui Chinese ethnic group , began his professional career in 1974 and graduated from the Chinese Language Faculty of Ningxia University between 1977 and 1982 . While studying, he became a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1981, and after graduating from 1982 to 1984, he worked for the Tongxin County Public Relations Office . He then served as Secretary of the General Affairs Department of the Ningxia Autonomous Region Party Committee of the CCP from 1984 to 1989, and then from 1989 to 1997 as the Deputy Director of the Political Research Department of that Party Committee. Subsequently, he was director of the public relations department of this party committee between 1997 and 2001 and was also a member of the Standing Committee of the CCP's Ningxia Autonomous Region Party Committee from 1998 to 2007.

Wang Zhengwei held the post of secretary of the Yinchuan CCP City Committee between 2001 and 2004, and was also a member of the Standing Committee of the Yinchuan CCP City Committee. On the XVI. At the 2002 Congress , he became a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP Central Committee ) and has been a member of that body ever since. In 2003 he obtained a doctorate in ethnic economics from the Central National University (ZNU). He was also vice chairman of the Ningxia Autonomous Region People's Government from 2004 to 2017, and vice secretary of the Ningxia CCP Regional Committee from 2006 to 2013. After serving as acting chairman of the Ningxia Autonomous Region People's Government between May 12, 2007 and January 21, 2008, he formally replaced Ma Qizhi as Chairman of the Ningxia Autonomous Region People's Government on January 21, 2008 . He held this post until March 26, 2013, when Liu Hui became his successor.

Wang Zhengwei then served as Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People (CPPCC) between 2013 and 2018 . At the same time, in March 2013, he replaced Yang Jing from the ministerial rank as chairman of the State Commission on Ethnic Affairs . He remained in this post in the State Council of the People's Republic of China until 2018, whereupon Bagatur succeeded him there. He has also been the director of the Central Steering Group of the CCP Central Committee on Xinjiang Affairs since 2017 and a member of the Central Steering Group of the CCP Central Committee on Comprehensive In-depth Reforms.
