The Warnes River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales .
geography
It rises in the northern plateau of New South Wales on the eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range , about 20 kilometers east of the small town of Yarrowitch in the western part of Werrikimbe National Park . From its source, the river flows through unpopulated land first to the northwest and then north into the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park . There it flows into the Yarrowitch River about 16 kilometers north of Yarrowitch .
For its entire course, the Warnes River is in the Local Government Area of Walcha and Vernon County .
Agriculture
The land on the banks of the Warnes River is considered good grazing area and is largely used for rearing calves.
