Wait a minute is a song by the German cellist Fidi Steinbeck and the German pop singer Mark Forster , with whom they took part in the final show of the ninth season of The Voice of Germany .
Creation and artwork
Wait a minute was written by Mark Cwiertnia (Mark Forster) and Daniel Nitt , together with the participation of the Mainz music producer Michael Geldreich, the two authors were also responsible for the production of the piece. The mastering took place under the direction of the Berlin sound engineer Lex Barkey . The mixture of Warte mal was created independently by Geldreich. Geldreich and Nitt got together for the arrangement and the programming. The sound recordings were made under the responsibility of Nitt. The instrumentation was done by Geldreich (keyboard), Alex Höffken (drums), Nitt (keyboard) and Fidi Steinbeck (cello). The recordings were made on November 5, 2019 in Berlin.
On the front cover of the single you can see - in addition to the artist name and song title - a black and white portrait of Steinbeck with her cello. For the first time, Steinbeck presented the cover image two days before the single was released on November 8, 2019.
Publication and promotion
The first release of Warte mal took place as a download and music streaming on November 10, 2019 by the music label The Voice of Germany , a sub-label of the Universal Music Group . The distribution was carried out by Universal itself.
Steinbeck presented the song for the first time during the final show of the ninth season of The Voice of Germany . In the final show, each of the five participants sang a cover song, their own title with their coach and a duet with a guest artist. When waiting times it was the custom title, took up the Steinbeck together with her coach Mark Forster and recited during the final show. In the end she reached fourth place with 12.51% and had to admit defeat to the winner Claudia Emmanuela Santoso from Team Merton . In November 2019, the German television station ProSieben advertised the song as an “entertainment tip” in various commercial breaks .

In 2009 she was already on the promo album Alle Wissen es , from the German music project Der Ursprung , with the title Alle Wissen as a cellist. The single reached position five in the German download charts .
