Washington is a village and civil parish in the Horsham district in West Sussex , England . It is about eight kilometers west of Steyning and five kilometers east of Storrington on the A24 dual carriageway on the edge of the South Downs . Washington has an Anglican church dedicated to Saint Mary. In terms of infrastructure, the community offers a primary school and a community center with an attached sports field.
