The house at Wassertorstraße 27 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The building is located on the south side of the Quedlinburger Schloßberg in the Westendorf district . It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a residential building and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The property is located directly on the northern bank of the Mühlgraben . Immediately by the house, a small footbridge leads over the Mühlgraben. To the north is the also listed building on Wassertorstrasse 26 .

Architecture and history

The house was built in the 19th century as a day laborer's house and is divided into two parts. The southern part, directly bordering the Mühlgraben, consists of strong masonry made of quarry stone . Presumably, the core of the masonry already belonged to the medieval fortification of Westendorf. To the north is a slightly higher, plastered half-timbered house .
