Vasily Grigoryevich Jakemenko (born May 27, 1971 in Lyubertsy near Moscow ) is a Russian politician and founder of several politically motivated youth organizations in Russia .

After completing his military service, Vasily Jakemenko initially worked in various areas of the private sector from 1992. In 1994 he graduated from Moscow State University of Management .

After Vladimir Putin took office as President of the Russian Federation in January 2000, Vasily Yakemenko worked briefly in the presidential administration. His task was to maintain contact with civil society organizations .

In May 2000, Jakemenko founded the youth organization Idushschije wmeste . This appeared in public, especially with its support of Vladimir Putin and with actions against the writers Vladimir Sorokin , Viktor Pelewin and Bayan Schirjanow as well as the band Leningrad . From April 2005 Jakemenko was chairman ("Federal Commissioner", Russian федеральный комиссар ) of the youth organization Nashi , which was known primarily for public actions and attacks against representatives of supposed enemies of Russia (e.g. the USA or Estonia ) and critics of the government . On July 8, 2008 Vasily Yakemenko was appointed chairman of the state "Federal Agency for Youth Affairs" Rosmolodjosch . According to the company, it deals, among other things, with the promotion of young talents as well as civil society youth initiatives and the "education of the young generation in the spirit of morality, patriotism and tolerance".

Because of the transfer of the so-called bronze soldier from Tallinn , representatives of the Nashi blocked the Estonian embassy in Moscow in 2007. There were also attempted physical attacks on the Estonian ambassador. For this reason, Estonia imposed an entry ban on Jakemenko in December 2007, which also applies to all other Schengen states .

In August 2010, Jakemenko was publicly accused of having had sexual contact with minors or young members of his organization. The occasion was the case of a Nashi activist who is said to have had an affair with Jakemenko during the Seliger-2010 youth meeting .
