Vasily Piwzow
Wassili Talgatowitsch Piwzow ( Russian Василий Талгатович Пивцов ; English spelling Vassili Pivtsov ; born August 16, 1975 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh mountaineer . Together with Maksut Shumayev , he climbed all eight-thousanders .
The two are the 26th and 27th mountaineers who made it. Piwzow tried to climb all the mountains without bottled oxygen. On Mount Everest , however, he had to resort to it for health reasons; he climbed the other mountains without. Shumayev managed without additional oxygen on any of the peaks. He reached the summit of K2 as his 14th and last eight-thousander on August 23, 2011, on the same day as Schumajew, Dariusz Załuski and Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner .
