Watergate (band)
Watergate was a German dance project from the late 1990s initiated by producers David Haid, Tommaso De Donatis and Orhan Terzi, known as DJ Quicksilver .
biography
In 1998 the first single The Battle was released , with which Watergate immediately made it into the German Top 20 and the Austrian Top 30 . The song is a cover version of the Wings hit Mull of Kintyre from 1977. In May 1999, Maid of Orleans (The Battle II) from the Watergate EP , a new version of the 1982 OMD hit Maid of Orleans (The Waltz Joan of Arc ) , another chart success , this time also in the Swiss charts .
In autumn of that year, Heart of Asia, another release from the album The World of Watergate, made it into the Top 30 in Germany and Switzerland. In May 2000 the song, which is based on the music from Furyo - Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence , even rose to number 3 on the UK charts . The project was ended during this time, but there was another publication in 2002. Together with Mythos aka Alexander Kilb, the single Neverending Dream was released , a cover version of the 1996 hit X-Perience , which only briefly made it to the lower echelons of the German charts in 2003.
