Watsuji Tetsurō Culture Prize

The Watsuji Tetsurō Culture Prize ( Japanese 和 辻 哲 郎 文化 賞 , Watsuji Tetsurō Bunkashō ) is a science prize that is awarded annually by the city of Himeji to commemorate the 100th birthday of the philosopher Watsuji Tetsurō as well as the 100th anniversary of the founding is awarded in Hyogo Prefecture . The prize is endowed with 1 million yen and is awarded in the two categories general and science .

1. ↑ This is the first paddle steamer that Japan had produced in Holland and that was sent to America in 1860 under Captain Katsu Kaishū.
2. ↑ "Kusamakura" is the title of a work by Natsume Sōseki . The title literally means "pillow made of grass". The main character, an artist, moves into a room in a remote inn in the mountains, where he meets the landlady Onami.
