The pasture mill is a wasteland in the district of Großlangheim in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The pasture mill is located in the far west of the Großlangheimer municipality on the Bimbach . At some distance, the federal motorway 3 passes in the north, further north is the community of Schwarzach am Main . Großlangheim itself rises to the west, while the municipality of Rödelsee can be found in the south . To the southeast lies Rödelsee itself, directly to the south a dirt road leads to the district of Fröhstockheim . In the east the state road St2272 leads to Kitzingen .

history

The mill was first mentioned in 1377. Grain was already being ground in the plant at this early stage. The mill got its name from the fact that the owners were given the right to cut the willow sticks at the Mühlbach every five years . Originally the Lords of Heidingsfeld ("Heytingsfeld") held the fiefdom of the mill, later it came to the Margraves of Ansbach , who also ruled over the nearby Großlangheim.

An unnamed miller from the willow mill was locked in the Kitzinger “dog stable” in the 16th century due to some offenses. However, he managed to break out and flee to Großlangheim. From here he praised a pilgrimage to Our Lady in Dettelbach and also handed over the hammer with which he had succeeded in breaking out. The flour mill was still in operation at the beginning of the 20th century, but was shut down before 1986.
