Weihermühle (Röttenbach)

Weihermühle was a village in the municipality of Röttenbach in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia . It rose today in the village of Röttenbach.

geography

The wasteland lay on the Röttenbach, a left tributary of the Seebach , which feeds a chain of ponds north and south of the village. In the west there was a forest area, otherwise the place was surrounded by arable land and grassland. Today, in their place are houses no. 1 and 3 on Mühlbergstrasse.

history

Towards the end of the 18th century, the high court exercised the Bamberg center forchheim . Landlord of the mill was the Winklerische Herrschaft Hemhofen .

As part of the community edict, Weihermühle was assigned to the Röttenbach tax district formed in 1811 . In 1818 the rural community Röttenbach was formed, to which the place belonged. The mill was house number 76 from Röttenbach. As early as the second half of the 19th century, a settlement was built near the mill. Before 1904 Weihermühle went out as a separate district. From the 1970s the development of Röttenbach and Weihermühle grew together. The original mill has since been demolished.
