The Dr. Crusius is a winery in the municipality of Traisen in the German wine-growing region Nahe , which is run by the oenologist Peter Crusius. The winery has been a member of the Association of German Predicate and Quality Wineries since 1984 . Around 120,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, in addition to dry wine , various noble sweet wines and sparkling wine .

history

The family has been growing wine in the Nahe valley since the 16th century. The manor building in Traisen dates from 1888 and has a vaulted cellar that is well worth seeing.

Locations

The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vineyards in Niederhausen , Norheim , Schloßböckelheim and Traisen . 55 percent of them are planted with Riesling , for which the top locations Traiser Bastei , Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg , Schlossböckelheimer Kupfergrube, Norheimer Kirschheck and Niederhäuser Felsensteyer are reserved, 25 percent Pinot Blanc and the remaining 20% ​​with other varieties (including Müller-Thurgau , Pinot Noir and other Burgundy varieties like Frühburgunder and Schwarzriesling ).

Awards

The 2004 Traiser Bastei Riesling Spätlese Goldkapsel and the 2004 Traiser Rotenfels Auslese Goldkapsel are VDP auction wines. In 2005, the Wein-Plus winery received the “Collection of the Year” award.

In the 2018 edition of the Vinum Wine Guide, the Dr. Crusius was awarded the WINNER OF THE YEAR OF THE NEAR REGION.
