history

Natural stone tower in the Hubacker, which was built in memory of Hedwig Keller from the limestone of the location and the region.

At the end of the 18th century, Johann Leonhard Keller fled Switzerland from the unrest of the French Revolution and settled in Dalsheim. The good relations with the clergy enabled him in 1789 to acquire the Dalsheimer Oberen Hubacker, which was previously owned by the monastery and has since been the sole owner of the cellar.

The current Riesling vines in this location were planted between 1972 and 1985. With the 2000 vintage, Klaus Peter Keller took over from his father, Klaus Keller, the main responsibility for the vineyard and cellar work of the traditional Rhineland-Hesse estate. Before that, he completed his studies at the Geisenheim Research Station and worked in South Africa and Burgundy .
