Dalsheimer Hubacker is the name of a vineyard in the Rhine-Hessian community of Flörsheim-Dalsheim ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).

Location, climate, soils

As a single site, the Hubacker is part of the large Burg Rodenstein site in the Rheinhessen wine-growing region ; it covers an area of 35 ha. The location is one of the most renowned locations in Rheinhessen. The first mention of the name goes back to 1490 and is derived from Hube , whose area varied between 5 and 30 hectares depending on the land and soil type. The origin of the location name goes back to the Dalsheimer Seelenbuch . The location extends north of Dalsheim and is limited to the north by the Bermersheimer Seilgarten , to the east by the Dalsheimer Sauloch , to the south by the "Dalsheimer Steig" and to the west by theGundersheimer Königsstuhl . Its soil is described as medium and rich in skeletons with mighty limestone rocks in the subsurface. The Hubacker wines, especially the Rieslings, arecounted amongthe best of the VDP- Weingut Keller . The 25 to 30 percent south-east exposed Obere Hubacker , an approx. 4 hectare parcel, is owned by the Kellers alone. Like many good vineyards, the Hubacker was owned by the monastery, from which Johann Leonhard Keller wasable to acquire propertyin the course of the secularization in the age of Napoleon. In the Gault Millau Wine Guide , a 1999 Dalsheimer Hubacker Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese was awarded the maximum number of 100 points.

embellishment

In the period from March to August of the year 2000, the owner family and friends built a 6.5 meter high stone tower made of limestone from Rhine Hesse. The stacker tower has a diameter of 4.2 meters and weighs around 100 tons. On its entrance side it is closed with a gate. On the outside of the tower there is a bronze plaque in honor of Hedwig Keller (1948–2000), to whom this tower was dedicated.

At the end of the vineyard facing the Rhine there is an ornamental driveway, which was also made of quarry stone and on the pillars of which a sandstone plaque is attached with the name of the individual layer.
