Wines and sites
Today, the vineyards of the winery are mainly occupied by Silvaner vines (61%). In addition, Müller-Thurgau (20%), Riesling (9%) and Kerner (4%) are grown. The range of wines is complemented by some red varieties. The large concrete eggs that were borrowed from the Austrian Bernhard Ott winery are a specialty. In them the variety ripens from ovo (from the egg).
The winery limits its acreage to the classic top location Escherndorfer Lump . Sauer's wines are grown there on Muschelkalk and Lettenkeup soils .
