The Weinstrasse 60 property in the Rhineland-Palatinate country town of Deidesheim is a former winery from the 18th century. It is listed as an individual monument in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate's list of monuments .
history
In the past, the property was located directly on the city wall , in its spacious yard the cattle of cattle dealers were housed. The Prince-Bishop of Speyer had his wines temporarily stored in the cellars . The property also housed an inn called "Zum Viehhof". Nothing is known about the opening and the end of the inn; The "Viehhofwirt" Hans Georg Fischer is mentioned in the years 1725, 1732, 1737, 1738 and 1747. In the years 1759 and 1760 Baptist Schwendel was the landlord; at that time French and Nassau soldiers were housed here. The "Viehhofwirt" from 1770 to 1779, Franz Platz, poured 3.5–5 ohms of wine per year during this time , the landlord Jakob Klug in 1784 5 ohms. In 1794 the French war commissioner was quartered here. Between 1796 and 1801, Peter Walch was the last time a “Viehhofwirt” was mentioned. From 1826 the property was owned by wine merchants, at times it later belonged to the Deidesheim winegrowers' association . From 1952 a laundry room was housed here; the building on the Weinstrasse now serves as a residential building.

The spacious former Winzerhof extends between the Weinstrasse and Grottenmauergasse and is part of the historic town center of Deidesheim. The house is a two-storey plastered building, the steep, hipped roof covered with beaver tails has remained unchanged since its construction. Its facade facing the Weinstrasse shows a slight kink, an indication that the house could have been created through the conversion of two previous structures. The high cellar of the property, also known as the "grotto" in Deidesheim, is unusually extensive . It has two aisles - structured by pillars, spanned by a groin vault , and has a floor area of approx. 600 square meters.
