Welcome to Sweden is a Swedish-American co-production television series that has been broadcast since 2014. The comedy revolves around the relationship between the Swede Emma, played by Josephine Bornebusch , and the American Bruce, played by Greg Poehler , when the two move to Sweden. The series is based on Greg Poehler's own experiences with his immigration to Sweden.

The tax advisor Bruce meets Emma while working in New York and the two begin a love affair. They decide to move to Emma's homeland in Sweden. From now on, an essential part of the series is the migration of the American Bruce to Sweden, the dealings with Emma's family and the associated socio-cultural tensions between Bruce's American self-image and the unwritten rules of Swedish society.

The first episode of the first season had the highest audience rating of all episodes in Sweden with 1,681,000 viewers. In the United States, the first episode was also the most successful, with 3.51 million viewers.
The German-language broadcast of the first season was broadcast from January 15 to February 12, 2015 on the NDR channel .
In addition, the broadcaster rbb started broadcasting the first season on July 29, 2015.
