Lena Olin
Lena Maria Jonna Olin (born March 22, 1955 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish actress and former beauty queen.
life and career
Lena Olin is the daughter of the Swedish actor couple Stig Olin and Britta Holmberg . She first appeared in classic roles at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm. There she met the director Ingmar Bergman and appeared in several of his films, such as Fanny and Alexander (1982).
In 1975 she became Miss Scandinavia . In 1988 she played the role of Sabina in the American film The Unbearable Lightness of Being of Milan Kundera 's novel of the same name . For Enemies - A Love Story (1989), she received an Oscar nomination . Sydney Pollack cast it in 1990 alongside Robert Redford in Havana . In contrast to previous joint work by Redford and Pollack, however, the film was not a success.
She also had roles in Romeo Is Bleeding and Mr. Jones (both 1993) and Roman Polański's The Nine Gates . From 2002 she appeared in the successful television series Alias - The Agent as a former Soviet agent and mother of the main character. She also starred in Queen of the Damned (2002) and had roles in Hollywood Cops (2003) and Casanova (2005). In the film The Reader (2008) she played the mother and later the daughter settings, which is the only one SS - massacre survived.
Lena Olin has been married to the Swedish director Lasse Hallström since 1994 , with whom she directed Chocolat (2000), Casanova and Der Hypnotiseur (2012). They have a daughter together. She has a son from a previous relationship with the Swedish theater actor Örjan Ramberg.
