Mystery Men is an American comedy film from the year 1999 . The film is a parody of superhero films and is loosely based on a comic book series by Dark Horse Comics . The film was released in Germany on August 25, 2000 on DVD .

action

The Red Eyes gang raids a senior citizens gathering in Champion City. The second-rate superheroes Mr. Furious, Blue Raja (the Blue Raja) and Shoveller (the dredge ) try to fight the gangsters but succumb . After the group reunited successfully, the superheroes attempt to free Captain Amazing from hiding in Casanova Frankenstein's villa. Meanwhile, the villain has gathered a large number of like-minded people around him and is about to destroy the whole city. Captain Amazing dies in the unsuccessful attempt at liberation, Casanova Frankenstein has kidnapped Monica, and finally there is a showdown in which each of the group can successfully use their individual powers. With combined efforts, they manage to defeat Casanova Frankenstein and prevent the city from being destroyed. In the end, they are celebrated and think about a name for their group, until a television reporter finally speaks of the “Mystery Men”.
