Wellendorf is part of the entire municipality of Hilter am Teutoburg Forest in the district of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony with around 1500 inhabitants. Until 1972 Wellendorf was part of the Borgloh community . In the course of the district reform , it became part of the entire Hilter community.
