The Wellhorn is a mountain in the Bernese Alps .
The mountain is 3191 m above sea level. M. high and is located south of the Reichenbach valley and west of the Rosenlauigletscher . At its summit, the areas of the communities of Meiringen , Grindelwald , Innertkirchen and Schattenhalb meet. A good 1 km northeast of it is the summit of the Klein Wellhorn ( 2700 m above sea level ).
The first ascent took place on July 31, 1866 by Edmund von Fellenberg with Christians Michel and Peter Egger over the east ridge.
