Welyki Kopani ( Ukrainian Великі Копані ; Russian Великие Копани / Velikije Kopani ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kherson with about 5600 inhabitants (2014).

Welyki Kopani is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in Oleschky Rajon , which also includes the village Dobrosillja ( Добросілля ) with about 370 inhabitants.

The village, founded in 1795, had 110 inhabitants in 1796. Velyki Kopani is located 29 km southeast of the Oleschky Rajonzentrum and 42 km southeast of the Oblast capital Kherson on the M 17 highway and the Kherson – Kerch railway line . The village of Radensk is located northwest of the village, and the Oleschky-Sande desert area to the northeast .
