Wendy Hayes

Wendy Hayes (married Ey ; * May 21, 1938 , † May 30, 1997 ) was an Australian sprinter and hurdler .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 , she was fifth in the 80 m hurdles and won silver with the Australian 4-by-110-yard relay.

In 1956 she became the Australian 100 yard champion .

After her athletic career, she became a sports scientist . At the age of 59 she succumbed to breast cancer .

  • 220 yards: 24.0 s, February 27, 1960, Melbourne (equivalent to 23.9 s over 200 m )
