Wenzel Leopold Ritter Putz von Breitenbach , Lord of Luck, Reschwitz, Buda and Chiesch (baptized May 11, 1688 in Platten ; † November 28, 1747 in Chiesch ) was a Bohemian nobleman and landowner.

Life

Wenzel Leopold Putz (baptized name Wenceslaus ) was born in Platten in the Erzgebirge as the son of the mountain master Christoph Adalbert Putz (baptized July 3, 1658 in Platten; † July 13, 1726 in Breitenbach) who was raised to hereditary knighthood in 1719 with the predicate of Breitenbach and his wife Anna Maria geb. Haass (baptized March 29, 1663 in Platten; † April 9, 1742 there).

After the death of his father in 1726 he was together with his mother Anna Maria, his brother Franz Anton and his sister Eva, heirs to the estates of Luck and Buda. The property was divided up in 1727, with Wenzel Leopold receiving the Luck estate and his younger brother Franz Anton the Buda estate, which the latter possibly later sold to his brother, thus reuniting the estates. Unlike his father, who still managed his property from his place of residence in Platten, Wenzel Leopold stayed with his family on his estates at Luck Castle and Buda Castle. He continued to be the owner and operator of the upper inking works in Breitenbach , the seat of the family that gave the title. Shortly before his death in 1747, he acquired the Chiesch estate from Count Joseph Kolovrat-Krakovský for 157,000 florins. He died in the same year at Chiesch Castle at the age of 59 and was buried in the family vault in the parish church of Luck .

His eldest son Johann Nepomuk Putz inherited the Luck and Chiesch estates. His youngest son, Franz Xaver Putz , who received the baron diploma from Emperor Joseph II in Vienna in 1767, owned the Werscheditz, Alberitz, Machowitz and Libkowitz estates. Due to financial difficulties, he had to sell Chiesch, which he bought from his brother, to Count Prokop I. Lažansky for 110,400 florins on March 14, 1766.

The tombstone of his youngest daughter Anna Maximiliana Countess von Horrich is in the parish church of Klattau.
