Christoph Haas , also Christoph Haaß or Christoph Hase (baptized May 8, 1609 in Platten ; buried January 12, 1679 ibid), was a Bohemian town bailiff , treasurer and mountain master . He headed the mining office of Platten.

Life

Christoph Haas was born as the son of Johann Haas (* 1582 in Ziegenschacht ) and his wife Agnes geb. Jungk (* ​​1575 in Platten) was born in Platten in the Ore Mountains . Already his grandfather Christoph Haas the Elder. Ä. (* around 1545 in Elterlein ) worked as a mountain foreman in Platten. During the time of the Counter Reformation, on October 10, 1653, Haas and other Plattner citizens were declared exiled and expelled from the country. As an exile, he probably stayed on the Fastenberg for a while until he returned to Platten and converted to the Catholic faith. In his hometown he held the offices of mayor and chamberlain.

In 1659 he was appointed as the successor to the late Elias Steiniger as the new mountain master. In 1664 he was confirmed in his office. He remained in this function until his death in 1679. In his death register entry he is listed as "H: Christoph Haas: Roman kaysl: MayStätt probably denied the former BergkhMeister here, buried January 12th: 70 years old".
