Werbljuschka ( Ukrainian and Russian Верблюжка ) is a large village in the Kirowohrad Oblast in the center of Ukraine with about 2800 inhabitants (2001).
geography
The village is on the territorial road T 12-10 , which leads east over the 35 km distant Petrowe to Schowti Vody and south-west over Dolynska to Ustyniwka . Werbljuschka is also located on the bank of the Velyka Werbljuschka River (Ukrainian Велика Верблюжка ), from which the village owes its name. Werbljuschka belongs to Nowhorodka Rajon and is the only village in the district council of the same name . Nowhorodka district center is 25 km west of the village.
history
The village is a foundation of the Cossacks . In the years 1754 to 1759 and from 1761 to 1764 the place belonged to the territory of the Novoslobidskyj Cossack Regiment, an administrative-territorial and military unit in Ukraine.
From 1982 to 1985 the village was called Pohrebnyakovo ( Погребняково ).
