Werdenberger yearbook

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Werdenberg yearbook is a cultural-historical and regional history-oriented yearbook that has been published since 1988 by the Historical and Local History Association of the Werdenberg region ( Werdenberg constituency , former Werdenberg district ). It is published by FormatOst from the Schwellbrunn publishing house.

The region

The Werdenberg region is located in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen , on the left side of the Alpine Rhine , on the eastern flank of the Alvierkette with the Margelchopf , the Churfirsten and Alpstein massifs , bordering the lower Rhine valley , the Principality of Liechtenstein , the Sarganserland , the Toggenburg and the Canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden .

Purpose of the yearbook

The Werdenberg yearbook has been providing articles on the history and culture of the communities of Wartau , Sevelen , Buchs , Grabs , Gams and Sennwald since 1988 , but also extends to the neighboring areas on a topic-related basis. The main part of each year contains a thematic focus, but after that there is always a second part with thematically free contributions. The volumes are rounded off by reviews, the annual reports of the Historical-Local History Association, the Werdenberg Castle Association and the Grabser Mühlbach Association, a regional chronicle, statistical information, results of regional referendums, community elections and the listing of the deceased from the six communities.
