Werewolf in a Women's Prison is a 2006 American horror / exploitation film directed by Jeff Leroy.

action

Jack and Sarah just wanted to spend a few cozy days full of sex and drugs in Mexico . But while camping, they are attacked by a werewolf . They manage to kill the creature, but Jack dies in the process. Sarah survives seriously injured.

Sarah wakes up in a prison run by BDSM freaks Juan and Kelly. The two claim that Sarah killed her boyfriend. Without a court order, Sarah is held and learns from her cellmate Rachel that everything is allowed in this prison. Perks are only available through sex, the guards can abuse the prisoners as they please. In a dream, Jack appears to her, pointing out that she has received the werewolf's curse from a bite and that she will transform under the full moon. During a roll call in the courtyard, Rachel and a fellow prisoner argue. Sarah intervenes and breaks an inmate's arm. It takes three stunning arrows to stop Sarah, who is suddenly super powerful. As a punishment, the two are put in the "toaster", that is, they are chained in the desert. The only way they can survive is by licking each other's sweat from their naked bodies.

Night falls back in prison. Sarah turns into a werewolf and slaughters almost the entire prison until she is stopped by Juan. This drugged her and now has the crazy plan to exhibit Sarah. The next day, however, Rachel and Sarah manage to escape. Chased by two guards and the bounty hunter "Badger" they flee into the desert. Sarah manages to kill the two guards, but Badger manages to capture the two.

Sarah is chained and presented to a howling crowd. To make her slip into the role of werewolf, Kelly whips Rachel. Sarah transforms and causes a massacre. Juan and Kelly barricade themselves in their office and wait for the werewolf with silver balls. After four misses, Sarah kills the two. Another prisoner tries to shoot her, but Rachel tries to calm Sarah down. However, this is no longer under control and bites Rachel. The two then shoot Sarah. When she dies, she transforms back and warns Rachel that she is now a werewolf. She is supposed to use the last silver bullet to commit suicide.

background

In order to publish the film in Germany, the legal commission demanded a total of around 2 minutes of cuts. An uncensored version was released in Austria. On July 31, 2009 the film was indexed by the BPjM .

criticism

The film mixes the typical elements of a werewolf film with those of exploitation. There are some very hard splatter sequences as well as some softcore sex scenes with a few BDSM scenes. The special effects look outdated, even if there are some CGI effects. The film won the title "Best B-Movie of the Year" at the B-Movie Film Festival in Syracuse (New York) . The lexicon of international films described the film as " trash entertainment that aims well below the belt".
